What is Gamification Geeks?
Gamification Geeks is a brand new, invite-only network of gamification designers, practitioners, students, and researchers who discuss trends, give advice, share stories, uncover insights, surface opportunities, and connect in-person.
The initial channels we've set up include:
- #general: Introduce yourself and general gamification discussion
- #events: Share an upcoming gamification event
- #jobs: Post a job or share your portfolio of work
- #feedback: Give and receive feedback on your gamification designs
- #news: Receive the latest Google News updates from our bot
- #research: Receive the latest published articles from Google Scholar and posts from the Gamification Research Network
Together, we’re creating the a genuine community for gamification designers in our growing industry.
#GamificationGeeks is a place to collaborate, discuss industry trends, find work, or get feedback.
We’ve developed a loose set of guidelines to help you navigate the community:
We encourage members to create meaningful and respectful discussion around their experiences and projects/products.
We have a number of topic channels. If the subject you wish to discuss does not fit in one of these channels, please use the #general channel. If the discussion in #general would be best suited in a topic, try to migrate your discussion there.
All members of #general are encouraged to introduce themselves in the #general channel upon arrival. Give the community a short description of who you are and what you do. Feel free to share what you are looking to get out of the community, as well.
Active participation and genuine interest in the community goes a long way towards user engagement with what you are promoting.
You’re invited to share what you are working on and keep the community up to date as you release new features or products, but please create discussion around your work. Please do not “cross-post” your message to multiple channels.
Link-dumping is forbidden and will adversely affect what you are trying to achieve by sharing your link with the community. Moderators will remove such messages.
We encourage members to use their real name and represent themselves with a profile photo. Do not misrepresent yourself.
#GamificationGeeks is a community of professionals. Although the community permits a wide range of humour, please be respectful and courteous to other members.
As with any large group of people, disagreements will happen. We understand that you’ll have some strong opinions, but we still expect courtesy during a debate, and expect you to refrain from personal attacks.
If you wish to nominate someone to be added to the community, please contact one of the admins.
Failure to adhere to the community guidelines can result in your messages being removed (either automatically by our bot, or at an administrator’s discretion). Repeated violation will result in loss of access to the community.
